Top-Seal White™ prevents ground base failure, vegetation control, dust pollution and soil erosion, and it increases soil strength and reduces its permeability. Field-testing with the Texas Department of Transportation (DOT) has revealed that Top-Seal White™’s strength is comparable to that of cement stabilization (concrete). Other tests have shown that its resistance to moisture significantly exceeds Environmental Protection Agency standards.
Top-Seal White™ is a polymer-based emulsion that requires water dilution. It is non-petroleum-based and eco-friendly, evaporating only water during the curing process and emitting no volatile organic compounds (VOCs). It does not contain solvents or cause damage to solar farm equipment, roads or vehicles. It is easily applied, requiring no special equipment or handling procedures. Terra Pave White™ also reduces the heat absorb from pavements, thus making the air temperature cooler in the neighborhood.
Terra Pave White™ is used for base stabilization to achieve a highly dense base by preserving the optimal humidity and the pressure of compaction. The treated base behaves like a cement-stabilized base but it is flexible. Terra Pave White™ preserves the base from weather conditions and forms a wearing surface. The base becomes impermeable and rock solid, and over time it doesn’t lose any aggregate. Also the surface is free from dust, as Terra Pave White™ could be used at very low rates as a dust control agent, vegetation elimination, erosion control at solar farms.
Another application for the Terra Pave White™ product is to cool down the temperature of any city by building new pavements with our Terra Pave White™. Terra Pave White™ is cured and dry approximately 24 hours after placement. It has great surface strength and is ready for heavy traffic and reflects the heat from the sun.
Corpus Christi – Exxon Mobile road project completed with TPWhite - Ultra-heavy Module for the Exxon GCGV project near Corpus Christi. This was 4.5 miles x 108 feet wide of heavy haul road (HHR) supporting up to 140psi SPMT wheel loads transporting up to 12,000 Metric Tonne modules. There were over 100 transport runs with over 30 ultraheavy modules. The design was for 10,000 cumulative axle passes over any one point. We used unsurfaced roadway design techniques and full-scale testing to develop and confirm the final section which consisted of 8” of Texas Flexible Base over Tensar TX-160 over 12” of lime treated medium plasticity clay (untreated CBR of 2 to 3). Automatic Plate Load Testing was performed by Ingios. The surface had to be very flat to accommodate the 108’ wide loads within the elevation adjusting range of the SPMT wheels. To help reduce water infiltration on the flat surface the aggregate was treated with TPWhite. This was a winning combination and performed as intended with minimal required maintenance over the 18-month window that the HHR was in use. The surface will now be converted to a roadway for use by the GCGV Plant and the City.
